Poetry Section"Poetry can take many forms, from very structured sonnets, to beautifully written free verse. Poetic themes can range from small and mundane specifics through epic and grand universals. At its best, poetry is like any other art; a celebration of life, an exultation of existence. And, I have found, great poetry is always intensely personal. In my estimation, no other artistic work gives the audience as clear and direct a glimpse at the artist’s sense of life than poetry. It is inspirational, thought-provoking, and beautiful, a natural for Sense of Life Objectivists. With due credit to Robin Williams and ‘The Dead Poet’s Society,’ we do not read, write and love poetry for god, gold or glory; we read, write and love poetry because we are thinking, feeling, passionate human beings. For all you passionate lovers of life, enjoy." --Scott DeSalvoPoemsSee the PoemsEssaysPoetry: Some Reflections By A Reader by David OyerlyThe Poetic Principle by Edgar Allen Poe The Rationale of Verse by Edgar Allen Poe Go to Poetry FAQ here. |
