| | I think Kaufmann's translations flow better than anyone else's I've read, and, from my limited knowledge of German, they represent Nietzsche's texts pretty accurately. As for Kaufmann's biographing and interpretation, from what little of that I read, I think it leaves something to be desired, though until I have delved more into the secondary literature I can't say for sure what that something is.
In terms of secondary material on Nietzsche's thought, I'm a fan of Robert Solomon and Lester Hunt, both of whom I referenced extensively (along with Kaufmann's translations) in writing my Bachelor's thesis.
