I don't know if anyone will get this reference but it reminds me of an episode of just shoot me.
Finch was making an independant/student film for a festival and it was totally dreadful. They were shooting a documentary on the making of it and it caught a lot of the process on tape. But every time he hit a problem he'd beg someone to help and give them an executive producer credit (one time for something as little as being given a doughnut)... when he finally got to the first showing he said "I'd like to thank my executive producers" and the whole front row stood up. Classic.
