| | I would like to see more discussion about the impropriety of corporate welfare as well as the Army Corps of Engineers in this disaster. Would people even be living in this disaster-prone area if not for government underwriting of flood insurance, expectations of FEMA relief, the existence of the levies built and maintained by government, etc.? Tracinski focused on what we traditionally consider "welfare" but these bigger questions provide deeper answers to the causes of this catastrophe.
