This post is a present to Sarah House. A while back Andy started a thread entitled "Sarah House gets a reading lesson."

During the discussion of my article on addiction. Andy made a most ingenious observation in a post about halfway through. He accused me of trying to play the victim by dragging my past problems out into the public.

What was really going on was that I was opening up new ground in psychology and starting at a point where I knew the evidence. My own experiences.

I have since become the Solo Psychology leader - doing a hell of a lot of research on this these days, and I have written other articles - outside of a huge number of posts. (I also have a life outside of Solo.)

The addiction issue got pushed over to the side due to all these other interests. I would never let anyone - especially someone hostile to me - dictate what I should or should not discuss. The sole exception is Kat - and even then, only in a very limited sense. But an idea just came to me, a very interesting coincidence. I just checked some dates. Here is the quote from Andy's post on September 21 on the Addiction thread:
Do yourself a favor, Michael, and cut loose from your victimhood.  Either that, or prove I have my head up my ass and go a month without mentioning your past problems with addiction.
The very last time I talked about my own addiction problems on Solo was on this very thread. The last time was my Post 137, dated September 26.

Today is October 27 - and not one peep. (Too many other things going on.) Is this proof enough?

I didn't make the offer, after all.

Andy also came up with an other gem on October 8 in another thread on rights, where he said:
I'll be back when I hear that loud *plop*.  Then I'll know you've pulled your head out of your ass.
May I suggest, Andy, that asses are not proper places for putting heads? You have an awfully distorted view of these things.

All I've seen from the beginning is two people who interact with each other in a way that is strikingly different than the way they commonly interact with most everybody else. It doesn't completely stop productivity, though.

No matter how deep the skeleton sits in the closet, it will be found and used. It almost reminds me of a relationship I had on the Branden forum with a guy named Psychmajor, but I think a bit more fun was had, in between the lacerations... :)

Most disagreements are predicated upon misunderstanding and/or offered or perceived abuse. Most times it has nothing to do with major philosophical differences.

Ain't it so. All I get from either of them is MSK says Andy proclaims, Andy says MSK is slippery. :)

This is where the scary-bad interpersonal skills are supposed to kick in and do their thing...

Too early to start breath holding.

Tangent Alert:

Psychmajor 9000! I remember him! Rich, I did the better part of a year, up in the Branden Big House (in case you don't recall, I was the main scientific critic of TFT, when that hell-bent guy kept citing J Clin Psych as 'proof' of it's merit). 9000 seemed like he had a chip on his shoulder, and didn't seem to take disagreement well -- that's all I remember (for what it's worth).

[and, while I'm still off on tangents (what else is new lately?), let's go all out: While my sister knows nothing of N. Branden, her 2 sons are named Nathaniel and Brandon, and Barbara Branden looks like my mom -- who is also named Barbara -- end tangents]
