I hope all is well for our friends in Florida. I just talked to Luke and his house flooded and without internet, but he is fine and his power stayed on.

I talked to Michael this morning before work and everything was fine. I have not been able to get through since noon, apparently his phone and internet are down.

I'm concerned also for those who live further south like John Newnham whose town got hit pretty hard. I just wanted to express my concern and well wishes.

If you live in Florida, an update would be appreciated.

Over 50 gallons of intrusive flood waters we removed thanks to Shop-Vac(TM). I am on dial-up right now until broadband service gets restored. I am glad we spent the extra money on flood insurance for our house.

Weather is like normal up here in Gainesville -- a little colder than normal, but nothing like a hurricane. Best wishes Luke, hopefully you didn't loose anything important.

Yeah - it was sunny all afternoon here in Tampa - 60's, tho expected to perhaps tie or break the record low of 49 set back in 1909 tonight... news says it hit a swath thru the state, but emergency crews are up and covering...

Is there a law that says all frequent Solo posters have to live in Florida? If so that may be the excuse Linz and Joe have been looking for to kick me off the list.

Definitely the place for SOLOC5. I figure the damage we do to the state will be blamed on whatever hurricane happens to be going through at the time. SOLO Hooliganism lives on!

Well, the religious nuts keep saying that Disney's annual "Gay Day" event -- I think it is the first Saturday of every June -- invites the wrath of God via hurricanes and other natural disasters. Just tell them about the SOLO event in Florida so they can publicly denounce us and get us some free publicity!

The hurricane is showing itself up here in the north-east. We expect to see 3-6 inches of rain, and snow in the mountains. I just put a huge tarp on my leaky barn roof this weekend. I hope it stays on in the wind!

I just visited Michael Stuart Kelly while running errands in Merritt Island. He is fine but his phone line will not be repaired until Wednesday evening. So he sends his regards. I warned him about the Linz rebuttal on "turning the other cheek" so expect a defense when he gets back online.
