| | Joe,
I was mainly just curious as to how and if sanction data could be put to use (my suspicion is that it isn't!). It's just that there have been some heated exchanges on SOLO during my time, some to the point of friendships ending and people leaving the site. If they become nasty personal attacks, I generally don't like to make posts in that environment, but human nature leads me to follow the conflict. In some cases the players involved in these disputes are SOLO management (and its strongest allies) on one side versus some other individual or group of individuals on the other. Most of the time I find myself in agreement with the SOLO side of the coin. However, I have sanctioned a few posts here and there that would probably have irked the site owners, and have sometimes wondered in the back of my mind if that would register me on some sort of a private "shit list". Again, if I were a betting man, I would bet that such secret thought policing is of no interest to the owners and designers of the site, and even if it were, nothing would stop me from speaking my mind through posts and sanctions. It was just a thought that came to on the subject of sanctions. Personally, you could do away with the whole system and it wouldn't have any effect on me one way or the other.
