| | Rick,
You're out of line. Ciro's quote simply exposes both the power and danger of human concept based thought. When we fail to check our assumptions about what someone is talking about we can arrive at quick but mistaken conclusions. Why do so many Objectivists, and others, find it so hard to apologise for errors? I feel that failing to apologise for something I've stated or done that is wrong totally trashes my self-esteem. Even if the person I apologise to is a bastard who I can't stand. Even if they crow and grand-stand about how I apologised. I'm not doing it for them. I'm not doing it to sacrifice my esteem in some public self-immolation event. I'm doing to maintain my self-esteem. Judge others, and judge yourself. Ciro exposed you on this one. So, say your sorry.
