Newberry fell in love with Rembrandt at age 11 and by 12 had devoured all his work. He has been an artist ever since. At 17 he began selling his paintings. Ideas have always appealed to him, especially aesthetic ones; Rand and Kant figure prominently in his knowledge base. But the sheer feeling of joy and sensuality in painting motivates him in a powerful manner. The musical universe of Puccini gives wings to his soul. And he has been blessed with love, the life, and collectors to match those heights. He profoundly believes that, as a culture, with all the brilliant intellectuals and artists exercising their wills, we are at the beginning stages of an extremely broad Renaissance.
