Description

I have my BA in Philosophy from Wheeling Jesuit University.  I'm a budding Libertarian, and a student and huge fan of Ed Younkins.  My plans include writing freelance articles.  I'm back and forth on whether I want to go to grad school to get my PhD.

Another big part of my life is music.  I've been playing bass guitar for almost 7 years now, and have played acoustic guitar, electric guitar, drums, bongos, djembes, and keyboards off and on for the last 4 or 5 years.  I've also been the singer in a few bands.  I was in a relatively successful hard rock band called Distraught's Son (www.DistraughtsSon.com), and we opened for a few national acts, such as Bobaflex, while touring on our debut album, "A New Emotion".  Before that, I was in a band for several years playing mainly cover tunes, but was able to open for bands like Saves the Day and New Found Glory, who are both national acts.  My current projects, Dogwood Tree and Lohio have been gearing up for touring and both have been in the studio working on upcoming releases.  Lohio's upcoming release will be a 4-song EP which we are fairly confident will break us into larger markets.  Final mixes of these 4 tracks can be heard at http://users.1st.net/milk/Lohio/.

For some mellower music that I've written, go to http://users.1st.net/milk/Projects/.

(Quotes) Lyrically it’s about thinking for yourself. As the title implies that doesn’t mean reject everything people tell you, but always question things so you can find your true path. Inspired partly by Ayn Rand’s The Fountainhead. A quote from that book, “Notice how they’ll accept anything except a man who stands alone.”
